Aggressively pursue solutions regarding street repair and addressing flooding concerns.
For years the city has neglected basic repair and routine maintenance of
our roads and infrastructure. Residents approved the city income tax
increase from 1% to 2% in November 2006. Money borrowed against the
future income tax receipts have allowed us to schedule the
resurfacing of Edgerton, Drake and Wallings Roads, which is set to
be completed by the end of 2007. The funds North Royalton
will be getting from future income tax receipts must be used in a
fiscally responsible manner. It is imperative that our city actively
pursues road-repair partnerships, not only with neighboring
communities, but also with county, state and federal agencies. By
leveraging our money with outside entities, we will be able to
maximize our city’s buying power, and repair more roads for less
money.
