Create a working relationship with our county, state and federal
elected officials.
It is absolutely imperative that place North Royalton establishes
working agreements with neighboring communities. These agreements would
help to reduce overall costs various services and recreational programs to our
residents. Our city must remove the invisible walls around our
community and work in unison with our neighbors.
Let’s not just say these words, let’s take
action! Late last summer I represented our city along with
representatives from Stow, Berea and Olmsted Falls, to work on the noise and flooding
issues pertaining to the Ohio Turnpike. By “working together to make
a difference,” we were able to receive a commitment from the Ohio
Turnpike, within a matter of eight months, to address the noise and
flooding problems.
I have spoken to the Mayors of Broadview Heights and Parma about joining forces
to explore the option of providing trash collection and recycling
services under one master contract. Although there is still work to
be done, the initial findings are exciting. Our city could save
thousands of Dollars annually. Such a contract would have to be
competitively bid for, utilizing the combined buying power of these
three great cities. Unfortunately, such an idea hasn’t been explored
in the past, but my Administration would make this and other joint
community efforts a top priority for North Royalton’s future.
